Fitch-Rona EMS Volunteers
The Fitch-Rona Emergency Medical Service volunteer staff plays an important role in public safety right here in our communities. Our volunteers work with two highly trained Paramedics, giving our rescue squads three skilled medics per ambulance and improving our capacity to serve our patients.
There is a strong sense of community with all volunteer programs and Fitch-Rona EMS is no exception. One of the most sincere pleasures of volunteering our time and service is the knowledge that we are contributing to the betterment of the local communities.
Our patients have confidence in us that comes from our professionalism and conduct as EMT’s and that’s something all Fitch-Rona EMT’s take pride in.
Fitch-Rona EMS Volunteers come from the local community. They are from varied backgrounds and ages. Becoming a volunteer EMT is not right for everyone. It takes dedication, significant training hours and the willingness to commit to regular shifts. But the return on your investment goes well beyond expectations.
Fitch-Rona Volunteers are required to hold EMT-B certification but are strongly encouraged to move to the IV-Technician level. We count a few licensed Paramedics within our ranks as well. There is always the opportunity to gain additional training and skill certifications.
We have recently developed a new training program for Fitch-Rona volunteers. The program is designed to improve problem solving, maintain proficiency of skills, and test our ability to find hidden clues in various situations. The material is developed using actual 911 calls to help gain valuable experience with real world situations.
As our communities continue to grow in population, diversity and physical size, the increased demands on public safety will require Fitch-Rona EMS to evolve to meet the challenges. Volunteers play an important part in the development phases. The flexibility of the volunteer staff allows Fitch-Rona to manage its operations without adding additional burdens to the regular staff or to community budgets.
Make a positive difference in your community. Make a positive difference in your life. Become an Emergency Medical Technician and come see us at Fitch-Rona EMS.
